I am registered with the ACP (Association of Child Psychotherapists) and have been qualified for 15 years.

I have a varied experience having worked in schools and NHS CAMHS as well as an independent practitioner.

Specialist areas

I have particular skills in working with young people with anxiety and depression. I contributed to a Government Research Project on Depression in 11-18 year olds from 2010 - 2013.

The way I work

I usually work with children on an individual basis but sometimes with parents. I think it’s valuable to meet parents/carers initially and then with the young person so as to get a full picture. I tend to hold a number of individual psychotherapy sessions (usually 3) and then review the therapy with parents and young person (depending on their age,) to decide on next steps. I continue to review the work with parents regularly (about once a term.) Parent work itself is important to sustain the therapy and because parents also need support. This work may be through phone calls or face to face meetings.
